Strummers and Singers
The Gathering Place Strummers and Singers began about 14 years ago when the Gathering Place Sabbath School was started at the Loma Linda University Church. Music was needed for song service, and the group thought it fun to use a guitar now and then. Little by little, the group grew, and in 2006 the members were asked to do a Vespers program at the University Church which was broadcast on Loma Linda Broadcasting Network. This led to regular recording sessions at the LLBN studios produced by Stan Appleton and Sonya DeLange with the programs currently aired 13 times a week worldwide. It was a major surprise to members of the Gathering Place Sabbath School how many people stopped by the LLBN booth in Atlanta at the last General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and were thankful for the much-loved hymns in a sing-a-long format. These hymns are a direct blessing from God that the group enjoys spreading throughout the world.
