Andrea Trusty-King has been preaching since she was 14 years old. She attended Oakwood University, Huntsville, Alabama, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in ministerial theology and communications, and received the Mosley-Warren Homiletics Award. She met her husband, Pastor Kurt King, while at Oakwood.

Pastor King earned her master’s of divinity degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Michigan. While at the seminary, she and her husband, Kurt, served as associate pastors at the Highland Adventist Church, in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

At the Thirty-first Street Adventist Church in San Diego, she was associate pastor and interim pastor. Following that, she and her husband, Kurt co-pastored the Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church, also in San Diego. She continues to pastor in Southern California while she works toward a doctoral degree at Fuller Theological Seminary, located in Pasadena.

Pastor King is vice president and co-founder of the Brighter Hope Ministries, Inc., which broadcasted its first radio program in March 2002. The ministry has since expanded to include television, print, and web ministries.

She has written for the Real-time Faith and Cornerstone Connections Sabbath school lessons. Pastor King has also been published in Spectrum and Guide magazines. She loves the communication field and has worked in radio for close to six years, as well as interning with Black Entertainment Television, in Washington, D.C.
