A tribute to Dr. William Loveless

It is with deepest sadness we share with you that on the morning of September 15, 2014, Dr. William Loveless passed away bringing an end to decades of passionate service to God and others. Dr. Loveless served on the leadership team of LLBN as a board member and was also a mentor, confidante, brother and father-figure to many of those involved. His compassion, passion, wisdom, and faith had a tremendous impact on all he came into contact with. He always saw people for their potential as long as they were willing to make a difference. LLBN would not be where it is today were it not for this giant of a man who stood behind this ministry and its mission from the very beginning, and believed in it when few others did.

LLBN will be dedicating a tribute to Dr. Loveless during the Week in Review airing on September 20 after the first and second church services.

In addition to being on the LLBN board and various other organizations Bill served as the Pastor of Sligo Adventist Church (1957-1970), Senior Pastor of Loma Linda University Church (1970-1976 & 1990-2000), President of the Pennsylvania Conference (1976-1978), President of Columbia Union College (1978-1990), Professor at La Sierra University (1990-1994), Professor for the LLU Faculty of Religion (1990-2000), and Professor in the Department of Educational Services and Behavioral Science Section for LLU School of Dentistry (August 13, 2000-September 20, 2013). He also had a therapy practice in marriage and family for several years.

A memorial service will be held at
the Loma Linda University Church on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm. His wife, Dr. Edna Maye Loveless has specified that donations in the memory of her husband can be made to LLBN, LLU School of Dentistry, or Calexico Mission School.

We thank God for the incredible opportunity He gave LLBN to work with Bill and to learn from him. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him when Christ returns, but till then we will miss him dearly. Please join us in keeping his family in our prayers.
